PLASTIC

Better Raw Material Usage Means Smaller Landfills

Saving 1 gram of polymers annually per product on a specific production line leads to a reduction of more than 200 tonnes of polymers a year. This translates to approximately 500,000 tonnes of plastic waste a year, worldwide.

TRANSPORT

Better Raw Material Usage Means Less Loads for Transportation

In addition to reducing plastic waste, the impact is significant on transport. Reducing 200 tonnes of polymer-usage on a production line by using TiHive’s Process Monitoring solution, translates to less transport (trucks to planes, boats, and cars). The impact is on all levels of the value chain and the lifecycle (extraction to transformation, distribution, the end-of-life).

eCO2

Optimising Usage of Raw Materials reduces eCO2

Scientists estimate that for 1 tonne of super absorbent polymers produced 5 tonnes of CO2 are emitted. This number includes the impact of extraction of petrol, its transformation and transportation. The eCO2 will increase if we take into account landfills and their impacts.

Saving 1 gram of polymers on all baby and incontinence products worldwide will save enough CO2 equivalent to more than 50 road trips from Earth to the sun, and back! These impacts can be cascaded on many industries such as the energy, pharmaceuticals, food and agriculture, and textiles industries.

ENERGY

Better Quality and Raw Materials Usage means Less Energy consumed

Energy will be used more efficiently thanks to the positive impact of TiHive’s solution on production yield, productivity and raw materials usage.

Inline quality control technologies are often ‘energivore”. Our engineers have designed TiHive’s technology for lower energy consumption versus other inspection technologies, such as X-rays.
